The friend that moved abroad

Hey there! I'm Hunter, and I've turned my obsession with living abroad into a career helping others do the same. Over the past four years, I've studied in Prague and London, managed 125+ students across three countries, and explored 25+ countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This blog is where politics meets passport stamps—you'll find practical study abroad guides (visa applications, housing, budgets), honest travel advice from both amazing adventures and spectacular failures, progressive political commentary shaped by my international perspective, and the occasional deep dive into music, films, and whatever else captures my attention.

My Story

Growing up in rural North Carolina, I dreamed of escaping to the big city for college. Plot twist: I ended up in European capitals instead. After earning degrees in International Relations and Digital Culture in Prague and London, I'm now heading to Glasgow for my first major international education role. I started this blog because too many people pay thousands for study abroad "consulting" when honest, practical advice should be free. Whether you're navigating your first visa application, planning solo travel adventures, curious about how living abroad changes your political worldview, or just want to read my thoughts on the latest album release, I'm here to share what I've learned—both the highlights and the reality checks.

    a bit of everything!

Music reviews, film recommendations, commentary on current events, reflections on digital culture from my grad studies, and whatever else captures my attention. This is my space to share the random thoughts that don't fit neatly into the other categories.
